Each week you should be scanning the free agent market in your mini league looking for value pick ups that other managers have missed. These players won’t cost you your place in the Waiver Queue but can provide the extra few points you need on a short term basis. Here we give a full lineup of potential free agent players for Gameweek 11.
< You can learn more about this transfer tactic (called “streaming”) in our article FPL Draft Transfer Tactics: Streaming. >
GOALKEEPER: Michel Vorm, 0.9% owned, Tottenham Hotspur Vs Crystal Palace.
Hugo Lloris has been left out of the France squad with a minor injury. If you aren’t worried about losing your 2nd choice keeper drop him for a one week stream of Vorm at home to bottom of the league Crystal Palace.
DEFENDERS: Christopher Schindler, 6.8% owned, Huddersfield Town Vs West Bromwich Albion.
Schindlers’s opponents West Brom have only managed a total of 10 shots on target away from home all season. Discounting the Terrier’s defeat to a scintillating Spurs team in September they have only conceded 2 goals in the other 4 games on their own patch. Schindler himself is ranked joint 5th across all Premier League defenders for Bonus Points, with 6 to his name already this term.
Cédric Soares, 22% owned, Southampton Vs Burnley.
Despite having less than half the ownership of teammates Virgil Van Dijk and Ryan Bertrand, Cédric has started every game this season for the Saints. He has so far registered 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 yellow cards and 0 Bonus Points. What he has registered though are 4 clean sheets and has a decent chance of another at home to Sean Dyche’s low scoring Burnley.
Federico Fernández, 5.8% owned, Swansea City Vs Brighton & Hove Albion.
Fernández is also joint 5th amongst all defenders in the League for Bonus Points with 6 so far and has a lower ownership level than both Kyle Naughton and Alfie Mawson who offer more potential for attacking returns.
Nyom, 6.5% owned, Huddersfield Town Vs West Bromwich Albion.
With Baggies right back Craig Dawson injured an opportunity has arisen for Cameroonian defender Nyom. He has scored 6 Bonus Points in just 6 starts this season and travels to Yorkshire on Saturday in what could be a low scoring affair against newly promoted Huddersfield.
MIDFIELDERS: Demarai Gray, 1% owned, Stoke City Vs Leicester City.
Regular readers on FPL Draft Boss will know that I’m a big fan of Demarai Gray. He has the potential to be a fantasy prospect in the mould of a Wilfried Zaha who is one of the most talented and exciting players outside the top 6 Clubs. As an Everton fan I had the dubious privilege of watching Gray live in GW10 as his pace and movement alongside Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez helped destroy my teams backline in a comfortable 2-0 win. Earlier in the season I said Leicester were the best side outside the Top 6 and if Gray can find the consistency to go with his obvious natural ability Leicester will have an attacking trio to help them prove that prediction correct.
Aaron Mooy, 24.6% owned, Huddersfield Town Vs West Bromwich Albion.
Both of Australian Mooy’s goals this season have come at home and his guile will be leaned upon to break down the Tony Pulis lead defence of West Brom in GW11.
Abdoulaye Doucouré, 26.3% owned, Everton Vs Watford.
Everton have lost 5 games in a row including a European away game on Thursday night. They have conceded an average of more than 2 goals per game since August. Doucouré has played every minute of every game this season, 3 of his 4 goals have come away from home and only Harry Kane & Christian Eriksen have scored more Bonus Points than him in 2017/18. Need I say more?
Steven Davis, 7.5% owned, Southampton Vs Burnley.
Maybe it’s because he has one of the least exotic names in the Premier League but for some reason Davis often gets overlooked in Fantasy Football. He has 2 goals, 1 assist, 4 Clean Sheets and 6 Bonus Points this season giving him a total score of 42 points. Davis has a quarter of the ownership level of Dusan Tadic despite having 16 points more than the Serbian. Teammate and fellow midfielder Mario Lemina will miss this weekends action through injury.
FORWARDS: Glenn Murray, 8.3% owned, Swansea City Vs Brighton & Hove Albion.
3 goals in the last 2 games for Murray for a Brighton side who have looked competitive in every single game this season. A trip to South Wales will hold no fear for Chris Hughton’s men and Murray is a must if he’s available and you are looking for a 3rd choice Forward. If teammate Pascal Groß is a Free Agent then pick up the Midfielder too.
Andre Gray, 23.5% owned, Everton Vs Watford.
Everton have lost 5 games in a row including a European away game on Thursday night. They have conceded an average of more than 2 goals per game since August. Watford forward Troy Deeney has been handed a 3 game suspension which should mean increased playing time for summer signing Gray.
