So after one week of Premier League action we have one more before another cup break.
The Cup games are starting to show glimpses of blank game weeks and double game weeks. The League Cup final won’t affect our draft teams too much as Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea assets aren’t the ones we should be looking at losing for the sake of one week. (Week 28) The FA Cup is already starting to reveal some guaranteed matches. In week 31 any teams still in the FA Cup Quarter Final will see their league match moved to a double later in the season. Stoke v Everton is the only match confirmed on, whilst a WBA defeat at Anfield in round 4 will see Bournemouth v WBA definitely on. While it is clearly too early to start adding players from those teams, it would be wise to not trade away those players in the next few weeks.
Last weeks tips were denied a clean sweep by the Jesse Lingard bandwagon dropping quicker than Carillions share price. Thankfully we had a better back up plan than Theresa May in the shape of Luke Shaw (6) and Perez (5).
Gameweek 24 tips:
Defender: Bauer, Stoke (HUD H)
Can’t believe I’m tipping a Stoke player here! However a combination of new manager bounce, a poor Huddersfield side and a lively performance at Old Trafford lead me to picking Bauer.
Midfielder: Wilshere, Arsenal (CRY)
Wilshere looks back to his best, for now at least. Arsenal are due a sublime home win in the middle of this spell of mediocrity and Wilshere can be the spark in the absence of bigger names.
Forward: Tosun, Everton (WBA)
Tosun’s potential was highlighted in last weeks article and he can get his home career off to the perfect start against a West Brom side still waiting for the Pardew bounce to fully kick in. Tosun was lively in the first half against Tottenham and looks good for a contribution this weekend.
Saturday: Ryan, Bellerin, Mahrez, Moting, Aguero
Sunday: McCarthy, Aurier, Alli, Son, Kane
Monday: Fabianski, Robertson, Chamberlain, Mane, Salah
