As a 32 year old Yorkshireman who was 18 when the Arctic Monkeys released their debut album there was great excitement this week when the band released the track list for their new album.Embed from Getty Images
With song titles like “Tranquility base hotel and casino”, “Batphone”, “The Ultracheese” and “The World’s first ever monster truck front flip” the songs look thrilling on paper even though the reality of the songs isn’t yet known, a perfect analogy for this weekend’s Premier League games. Arsenal, Leicester, Chelsea, Brighton all look to have great home fixtures for us to tuck into. And with Liverpool and Manchester City having a second leg to worry about it may open up unexpected possibilities in the derbys.
Defender: Chambers, Arsenal (SOU H)
Chambers has played his way into the Arsenal team in recent weeks and was not selected for the Europa League game in midweek, given Southamptons lack of attacking threat both Chambers and Holding could be due a clean sheet if they get rotated into the team.
Midfielder: Izquierdo, Brighton (HUD H)
The Brighton wide man has been a revelation this season and can fill his boots against Huddersfield who are slowly sliding to the championship. Brighton can play with the freedom of near safety but the need to get an additional win to make sure, this combination could lead to a few goals for the South Coast side.
Forward: Tosun, Everton (LIV H) a tricky pick this one. But with Liverpool missing Matip and with their concentration surely on the midweek Champions League quarter final take a risk on Tosun to carry on his good form and give Big Sam something to smile smugly about before he rides off to West Brom with his pocketful of cash.
Saturday: de Gea; Holebas; Mahrez, Alli; Vardy
Sunday: Hart; Alonso; Hazard, Willian; Aubameyang
